The Historic Galleano Winery, established in 1839, is California's oldest continuously operating winery and a designated California State Landmark. It was founded on Mission variety grapes planted after Don Tiburcio Tapia received his Mexican land grant, and the vineyard has remained in production for nearly two centuries. Today the winery still grows wine grapes on its original terraced acreage in Rancho Cucamonga.
Modern Rancho Cucamonga has expanded that heritage with a new generation of vineyards, tasting rooms and wine-related businesses scattered across the region. The city has cultivated a wine tourism district where visitors taste wines from both established and emerging producers, many focusing on Rhône and Spanish varietals suited to the inland climate.
